Transformers are mainly used to bring the voltage to a standard level so that electrical or electronic goods are not damaged due to voltage fluctuation. The process of increasing the voltage is called “stepping up”, while decreasing the voltage is called “stepping down”.

The role played by electrical reactor is of a passive electrical component that can store energy in a magnetic field created by the electric current while passing through it. Reactors are one of the basic electronic components that control current and voltage, changing with time.
